The Foundation honored three employees
Gifts like the Edward H. Stall Endowment Fund help honor exceptional team members at Bon Secours St. Francis
On March 19, associates and guests gathered at the Greenville Convention Center for the 2024 Bon Secours St. Francis Health System Service Awards Dinner. The evening saw the presentation of the annual Edward H. Stall Compassionate Care Awards to three dedicated employees.
Edward H. Stall was a long-time friend and supporter of St. Francis and the Sisters. He served on the hospital board and made invaluable contributions to major projects. His spirit of generosity lent itself to hallmarks such as the Louis P. Batson, Jr. Cancer Care Center and St. Francis Eastside.
After he passed away from cancer, his loved ones memorialized him by creating the Edward H. Stall Endowment. The Endowment funds the Compassionate Care Awards, which honor clinical workers. Recipients embody the Bon Secours values and go the extra mile to provide excellent care. Congratulations to this year's awardees!

Brenda Jackson
RN at Open Arms Hospice
Brenda often sings to her patients at the end of life. She makes sure they have everything they need. She works hard to coordinate their care with their families, wherever they may be. Her patients love her and she loves them, showing that love and dedication during every visit. Brenda is also a mentor to new nurses during their orientation. She teaches them documentation and patient care techniques with patience, compassion and kindness.

Ann Sexton
Financial Counselor
Ann works with low-income patients who need financial aid from the Ministry. She comes in early and stays late to meet with patients at a time that works best for them. For example, she met with an uninsured patient before his regular dialysis treatments at 5:00 AM. Despite the early hour, Ann helped him apply for financial aid so he could continue treatment without worrying about the cost.

Pam Underwood
Patient Care Technician
Pam exemplifies a compassionate St. Francis caregiver. She purchases fidget toys for dementia patients to keep their minds and hands busy. She collects soda can tops for Ronald McDonald House and delivers them herself. She gives personalized gifts to her peers to make them feel special and appreciated. And she provides loving care to each one of her patients as if they were her own family. Pam says her priority is to be a servant to her patients, co-workers and The Saint. She adds, “I am here because God has led me here.”
Thank you to our exemplary care providers and to supporters like Edward H. Stall and his loved ones, whose gifts leave a lasting impact.
