John likes being a recurring donor because it's an easy way to help patients in need
John Montville is the executive director of oncology services at Mercy Health - Lourdes Hospital. He has spent 30 years working in health care and contributing to foundations. But when it comes to being a recurring associate donor for Mercy Health Foundation, he is particularly enthusiastic. To him, recurring gifts are important because the needs of his community are recurring, too.
“It isn’t a one-time need. Patients are in constant need of assistance and access to services, so the giving should also be constant.”
“I see the money I donate go straight to the benefit of patients in our community,” he says. “Gifts go to directly to patients in times of need, and certainly to purchase equipment and provide services we would never be able to do if we didn’t have donors.”
“I’m very proud to give. The money gets back to the people who really need it—you can’t ask for more when you’re giving.”
