Your donation means Mayra, a cancer survivor, doesn’t have to live in chronic pain
Mayra Saba survived cancer more than two decades ago, but she’s still suffering from its effects today. Recently, she visited Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital to seek relief from a severe case of lymphedema, which can cause severe pain from swelling and fluid retention in patients who have had lymph nodes removed.
Your support helps patients like Mayra who suffer from lymphedema. At St. Mary's, she was fitted with a custom compression sleeve to ease the discomfort in her left arm.
“You don’t know how much I appreciate what they are doing for me at St. Mary’s. I am very, very grateful and thankful for everyone who has helped me.”
“They offered me solutions to help with my lymphedema,” she says. “The sleeve helped me out a lot with the inflammation and the pain. As soon as I started using it, I started to feel a little bit better.”
Donations to the Good Samaritan Fund provide affordable medical equipment to patients like Mayra. The fund helps people focus on improving their health without adding undue financial stress.
Mayra is still using the sleeve and going to regular physical therapy for her issue. She is seeing significant improvement, which she’s extremely grateful for.
