Steve gives back to Mary Immaculate Hospital for saving his life
Steve Savage was training for a bicycling race in 2012 when he collapsed in the right-hand lane of traffic. He was rushed to Mary Immaculate Hospital where he survived a major cardiac incident. Steve was thankful—especially for the attention his family received.
“Those guys really took good care of me. But it was the care they provided to my family that I found quite remarkable.”
His experience became a calling to help others.
“I have a desire to find people with similar stories who don’t know how to give back and talk to them about ways they can make an impact,” he said. “It’s a great way to give back to the hospital and the community.”
Steve now serves on the board of the Bon Secours Foundation. “I feel like the Lord snatched me off that pavement and said, ‘Not so fast, Savage. I have things for you to do,’” he said.
