Screenings save lives. Help make annual screenings accessible for all women.
A $1.2 million fundraising effort will purchase and equip a motorcoach for a new Mobile Mammography Van to visit communities across Hampton Roads.
Each year in Virginia, approximately 8,180 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and 1,160 will die from breast cancer. Early diagnosis is key to survival. In 2024, over 22,000 mammograms were performed at our on-site facilities, but the need in Hampton Roads still outpaces our capacity. We need your help to make screening exams accessible for all women across Hampton Roads.
The Bon Secours Hampton Roads Foundation is raising $1.2 million to purchase and equip a van that will provide mobile mammography services for women, right in their own community or at their place of work. The van will be equipped with the same state-of-the-art 3D mammography technology that is found at the hospitals and staffed with caring, well-trained technologists to make every exam a more comfortable experience.
The van will visit schools, churches, shipyards, corporations and community events – making access faster, easier and more convenient. With your support, we can serve up to 24 women a day – over 6,000 a year – bringing vital screenings straight to where women live and work.
